Updates

I just took a little trip down memory lane and read my blog posts from when Anton was a little babe. We have been doing a little sleep training re-do and I was checking to see how Anton's sleep was doing around 40 weeks. It was really handy to have a little baby log to refer too and also very sweet to have a play by play of all of the adorable things babies do. I'm really kicking myself for not doing this with Theo. Poor second kid always gets the short end of the stick. I'm hoping to do a little catch up. Theo is so completely different than his brother in so many ways. He has been crawling since 7 months and we can not keep him contained. He is everywhere lately. He loves to explore and will pull up on anything. His favorite hobby is opening drawers, doors, and cupboards. He is silly and sweet and loves to give kisses with his mouth open wide. Just today I heard him say bye at the correct time and I've also heard him say bubble. He is oh so sweet and snuggly and seems to have me wrapped around his finger. I do every single bed time routine and daddy almost always puts big brother to bed. I think it's time I cut the cord a bit and get someone other than me to do some of his night night routine. I think this time around we have been so much more focused on one kid or the other that we haven't been as equal with parenting. Ivalle is such an amazing buddy and role model to Anton right now that I feel like I've been in baby mode.

Here are some recent details:

Eating: Another area where he is clearly getting second kid treatment. He eats three times a day and usually we feed him store-bought baby food. We keep saying we are going to make him some home made and we just never get around to it. Life is so busy. I'm also going to try and add in some solid finger foods this weekend like beans and blueberries. So far he will eat a teething cracker or suck on a watermelon rind, but that is about it. Time to get with the program.
Sleeping: He's been a bit of challenge in this department for the last couple of days. I'm thinking he was sleeping to late in the day so he wasn't really tired at bedtime. Also he's just starting to feel a bit of separation anxiety when mom is away. I'm pretty sure he wakes at night missing me so we are trying to do some gentle cry it out with check ins every 5 or 10 minutes. We had such a lovely couple of months with him sleeping from 7-5:30 then he would have one quick nurse and go back to bed until it was time to get ready for school. We will keep working on it.
Milestones: Starting to use a walker to get around on two feet. He is a really speedy crawler so the walker is a fun new challenge for him.
